Our church choir consists of singers of all ages, skill levels, and voice types. In rehearsal we practice hard and laugh a lot! We are always pressing on to deeper musical integrity and learning to sing as one voice, as a choir, and not simply a group of individual voices.
We gather every week to share in each other's lives and to rehearse music. We prepare music which will serve to guide the congregation in singing during our corporate Sunday morning worship. We also prepare a handful of choral selections for special occasions.
*NOTE: We take a few weeks "off" of rehearsals after particularly busy times like Christmas and Easter. Please call the church office at 604.228.9747 to confirm our rehearsal schedule.
Christmas
During Advent and the months leading up to Christmas, our choir meets to prepare songs and anthems for our Christmas celebrations. We sing many beloved carols as well as new arrangements and compositions that tell the Christmas story in a fresh way.
Lent and Easter
Lent is a time during which we invite the congregation to participate by listening and entering into contemplative prayer. We may sing choral music and explore musical styles which reflect the penitential season of Lent. We sing throughout Lent and into Easter, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with joyful songs.
